Review : Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick No. 13 Gardenia

You may remember me getting a little excited about the Chanel lipstick that I purchased at the St Davids event a while back. I've had a good try of this lipstick and am now ready to reveal all.

No, I really didn't need to pay 5p for this carrier bag, but I HAD to have a Chanel carrier bag!

I love the packaging of this lipstick. It is so sleek and mature, with the iconic label on the lid. I do tend to hold my lid up for a little longer than is necessary, just so people know that my lipstick is Chanel!

 Such a pretty colour!

I explained to the lovely sales assistant in John Lewis that I tend to wear red lipsticks in the evening & stick to tinted lip balms in the day and that for a change I fancied a nice pink lipstick for day time wear. She picked up several different shades and eventually matched me to number 13, Gardenia.

This is from the hydrating creme lip colour range. My lips were quite dry in these photos due to being run down with a cold, normally when my lips are this dry I don't enjoy wearing lipstick as it does make them feel worse. This lipstick doesn't, it really does hydrate the lips.

It is a long lasting, good quality lipstick. Would I re-purchase? No. Why, you ask? The only reason that I will not re-purchase is that I simply cannot afford to spend that much money on a lipstick, believe me if I could I would have a house full of them!

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick £23.

I purchased this lipstick in John Lewis, Cardiff. It isn't coming up on their website which is why the link takes you to House of Fraser.

Have you tried any Chanel lipsticks? What is your biggest lipstick splurge?

  2. I really wanted to buy a chanel lipstick when I was going on holiday and browsing the duty free but I didn't because I didn't want to spend money on a product I didn't know was good or not. Thanks for your review though, I might purchase one as a treat, as it looks so good on you! xx

  3. I have a Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in a red colour, it's one of my favourites and I always whip it out when I have it in my bag to show off lol! If you're spending over £20 on a lipstick I think you earn the right to show the packaging off! x
