Eyebrow Threading at Arch Angelz, Cardiff

I've been debating having my eyebrows threaded for a long time but have always been put off by the horror stories and the women crying while having them done in the middle of busy shopping centres.

I was told that if I wanted it done I should try Arch Angelz, which is situated in Debenhams in Cardiff. I bit the bullet last month and was glad that I did, I actually found it less painful than my usual eyebrow wax.

The assistant was lovely and very helpful. I explained that I was a little anxious as the ones that you see in shopping centres always look very brutal. Cari explained that its because they do it so quickly, they don't give you time to breathe in-between them pulling the hairs out.

Cari talked me through the process and showed me the positions in which I had to hold my hands to ensure that she didn't cut me (you have to stretch the skin around your eyes tightly).

When Cari had finished my eyebrows were very neat and tidy with no stray hairs. My skin was actually no where near as red as it is when I have them waxed!
I received a loyalty card which gives me one free treatment after paying for five treatments. I can't remember the exact price but I think it was £7.50 which I don't think is too badly priced at all.

Overall I was very impressed with the whole threading service and the Arch Angelz store itself and will definitely return.

Have you had your eyebrows threaded? What did you think of it?

  1. I usually get mine threaded in Arch Angelz and it's usually great! Although mine costs £10. Damn living in expensive places! I think the more you have it done, the less it hurts, plus it's usually over quite quickly! :) x

    1. £10 is a lot, mine was definitely cheaper than that because I'm too tight to pay that haha x

  2. I have it done before and it does hurt but the person i go too does it really well and it last a month and the pain is only for 5 mins and it could be a lot worse so it isn't too bad at all. Glad it went well for you :)

    1. It went really well, sometimes I surprise myself with my pain threshold, I always think I'm a wimp but then I go and have something painful done and don't bat any eyelid! x

  3. I definitely want to try getting my eyebrows threaded; I've been too scared so far because of all the horror stories too though! I'll have to look for a good place near me :)

    1. I was very pleasantly surprised as mine didn't water. She gave me the tissue when I first went in and I was dreading it then! x

  6. I get mine threaded all the time. I go to Shavata in House of Fraser and I think it's about £17 which seems so expensive after reading this but it's fab. I'd recommend it to everyone. <3 xoxo

    1. That is quite a big price different. When I put my train fare on top of that there is no that I could justify it x

    1. If you're lucky enough to be able to get away without plucking them don't start, you'll regret it! x

  8. See, my local one is awful. Friend had hers done and they did them sooooo bad and now it's shoved in a dark corner of the store and I never see anyone go to it! I stick to waxing and tinting and staying away from arch angels :P Bristols looks nicer though :D I still like to go get mine done rather than do them at home and pay £12 for the tint, wax and a good old long chat :P

  10. I have never had this done - I've always been a bit put of by people being able to watch you having it done lol I may give it a go but I'm quite happy with waxing for now especially as my friend does it for me :) xx

    1. The store that I went into wasn't too bad, people could see more but it was a little out of the way so not quite as intimidating! x
