NOTD : Pink Ombre

taken after two days, apologies for the tip wear :-/
I've been meaning to attempt ombre nails for so long but just haven't gotten around to it. Friday evening I decided that it was about time I get my lazy self into gear and attempted it. Which left me with 15 minutes to do my hair and make-up to go out with the girls, but at least my nails looked good!

Colours used, left to right, unknown old bottle of nail varnish with absolutely no writing left on bottle! Leighton Denny Babydoll, Barry M Bright Pink, Barry M Pink Flamingo, Seche Vite.
I painted my nails with a base coat of the unknown lilac-y colour and let it dry. I cut off the corner of a normal kitchen sponge and painted the pinks onto it in stripes, I then pressed this onto my nails.

It is very messy so be sure to have cotton buds and nail varnish remover handy!

I definitely think that the end result is worth the mess and, mess aside, this is actually very easy to do. I'm currently deciding on what colours to use next....

Are you a fan of the ombre nail trend? What are your favourite ombre colours?

  7. I like doing ombré with glitter polishes, you do one thin coat about 2/3 up the nail, another coat covering about 1/2 of your nail and a final layer on the tip. It's really fun and easy, you don't even HAVE to use a sponge!
