NOTD : MUA Fur Effects in Fluffy Bobbin

I saw the MUA Fur-Effect nails on offer for £2 in my local Superdrug and couldn't resist temptation. They had hardly any left, just Fluffy Bobbin and Fluffy Puff, of course I had to pick both of them up!

The pot does come with a sifter, you are supposed to shake the fur through the sifter into the lid and apply from there. Unfortunately the fur wouldn't come through my sifter! The sifter was very difficult to remove, I had to take a knife to it and ended up taking a chunk out of the pot, which now won't close as a result!

I applied two coats of MUA nail varnish shade 1, on the second coat I pressed my nails into the pot and rolled into the fur. I pressed the fur down and then waited a little while before brushing off the excess. Make sure that you don't brush the excess into the pot, I did and you just end up with clumps in the pot that ruin the next application.

As you can see on my one finger it didn't pick up the fur properly on the tip, other than that my nails look great. I'm hoping that practice will make perfect with these as it is such a cool effect.

It doesn't last long, I would say this is more of a party manicure than a lengthy manicure. The fact that I keep stroking my nails probably doesn't help with longevity, but they feel so nice! Washing your hands doesn't ruin the effect.

MUA Fur-Effect nails are available from Superdrug stores and online at MUA Store, they come in five different colours and are currently on offer for £2. I'm not 100% positive but I think at full price they will be £3.

Have you tried fur-effect nails?

  2. I bought a few of these so I'll be trying them on the weekend. I think I'll just try it on one nail for now, but it looks pretty good on yours, they'll be perfect with a bit of practise. I'll let you know how I get on with the actual pot :)

    1. Thanks hun :) I did my ring finger on each hand with the pale pink one and it came out okay. I did yank the plastic holey bit out though, nothing comes out of it! I actually used my teeth instead of a knife and it did work its way free without breaking the pot. I put a little bit in the lid and then rolled my nail in it. It feels very bizarre, and I keep stroking it too.

    2. You were more sensible than me then opting to use your teeth not a knife haha!
It does feel odd, in a really nice way! Glad it went okay for you. x

    1. They could probably do with putting a picture on the lid to explain what it is! x
