I bought this brush a long time ago, back when it first came out and was on special offer for something like £10. I've only just started to use it, I really do suck! I put it off for a while as I'd read reviews about using these type of brushes and experiencing a purging stage and I always had something on that I didn't want a breakout for. I gave in and figured that I'm never going to want to willingly give myself spots and as this may actually help get rid of the ones that I already have it was worth a shot.
The brush itself seems quite sturdy. Being my clumsy self I managed to drop it in the sink on the third day of using it. The battery clasp came off and almost went down the plug hole. I managed to rescue it and it clipped straight back into place. No damage, though I do make sure I put the plug in now just in case!
I've now been using my brush for two weeks. I use it once a day before going to bed, I remove my make-up using my usual make-up remover. I then apply my Benefit cleanser on my face, wet the brush and use it all over my face on the first setting. I have tried the second setting but find it to be quite sensitive around my nose and forehead.
The first few days of using this my skin cleared up a lot, it felt and looked smoother and my spots were visibly reduced. Towards the back end of the first week/beginning of the second week I came out in quite a lot of spots. I regularly breakout in boil like spots in particular areas, like one certain spot on my nose. These all decided to come out at the same time, it was quite horrific in these areas but my skin still looked better everywhere else. These are all near enough gone now, but have left horrible dry patches in their place. Going towards the end of the second week I came out in a lot of smaller spots in places that I don't usually get them, these are quite small and easily hidden with make-up. I guess this is all part of the dreaded purge!
Spots aside this has already improved my skin quite a bit. My pores are reduced, my skin is smoother and looks healthier. Today I noticed another new development, my skin didn't get anywhere near as greasy as it usually does, I'm hoping that this is due to the brush and not just a good day! I will keep you updated.
