Review & Swatches : MUA Lipstick Trio - Siren

MUA Lip Trio provides the visual effect of a stain with the comfort and sheen of a lip gloss. The long-term colour with a satin, balmy finish leaves the look of effortless polish and understated sophistication.

These lipstick trios are one of the latest releases from MUA. There are three different trios available, each costing £2.50 which is quite the bargain. The packaging that they come in is fine, nothing spectacular but you can't complain for the price, the clear lid is great as you can easily see the shades inside. They come with a mini sponge applicator, it is handy to have a mini applicator in with them though I personally would have preferred a mini lip brush.

Siren consists of plum nude shades, none of which are usually the colour that I would go for. I was actually pleasantly surprised when trying these colours on my lips as they do suit me. As you can see from the swatches the two paler colours apply quite sheer, even the darker colour needed a little bit of building up.

They feel creamy on the lips, I would class them as more of a tinted lip balm than a lipstick, though they aren't nearly as nourishing as a lip balm, they left my lips feeling a little dry after a couple of hours wear.

I really love the darker colour in this trio and can see myself wearing this quite often. The main problem for me personally is that I am lazy. I prefer to swipe a lipstick directly to my lips rather than faffing around with brushes, but that is just me. I guess I could use my fingers but that would leave me with messy fingers.

These compacts will be perfect for travelling as they won't take up much room in your make-up bag and have something to suit pretty much any occasion.

They can be purchased from MUA online and in Superdrug stores nationwide for the great price of £2.50.

Are these trios something that you would be interested in or are you like me and too lazy to take the time to apply them properly?

  1. I love the look of them and for £2.50 will definitely be trying them out but I'm a fan of high pigmented lipstick I can swatch on and not have to worry about. It would be handy if they upped the price to £3 or £3.50 and included a mirror!

  4. They're really cute and a bargain, but I"m the same as you - I'm not sure I could be bothered to open it up, dip my finger/brush in to reapply every so often! xx
