This week has been super busy. One of the major changes is that I've started walking home from work. Spencer takes me in in the mornings and I usually catch a bus home, my monthly ticket costs just under £40. I usually miss the first bus home which means getting home at around 6pm. Walking home from work saves me the money, hopefully helps me loose a few pounds (saving pounds and loosing pounds all at the same time!) and only gets me home five minutes later than if I miss the first bus! Win, win situation really and I will continue to make the most of it while the weather is on my side.
I walk from work, through the park and then across the canal, in fairness it is a beautiful walk which means I really can't complain.
One of the gorgeous meals made by me. I marinated chicken breast in Soy Sauce, Chinese Five Spice, minced garlic and the juice of half a lemon. I then cooked in the griddle with Frylite and served with stir fry veg - absolutely beautiful. Spencer described the chicken as an explosion of flavour! The best thing was this is actually healthy.
I have a new addiction in the form of Crunchy Nut Granola, the chocolate version of course. This is a lot cheaper in Home Bargains, £1.99 I think, as a result I bought three bags in there yesterday. Hoarder much?
I saw a delicious looking healthy 'apple pie' on Frances' instagram and couldn't wait to re-create it myself. I just coated some apples in cinamon and baked for twenty minutes, then served with sliced almonds and low-fat Greek yoghurt. Yum.
I love salmon. I had it here with potatoes, peppers, tomatoes and onions that I roasted together with Frylite.
I was naughty yesterday. I had a double cheeseburger and a frappuccino. It was very nice.
Not wanting to get out of bed.
I am obsessed with my new collapsible colander. Those of you with small kitchen will understand my joy here. I bought it for £3.95 from eBay, complete bargain!
Posh chocolates make the working day easier.
Egg & turkey rasher toastie with a cup of coffee. Weekend breakfasts rule.
New tee :) I saw this on Katie's blog and decided to buy one myself. It is nice to do my bit for charity.
Kitty trying to escape the sun by sleeping under the BBQ cover, she can't resist popping her head out for a nose.
Yesterday was my friend's local hen night, unfortunately I had to drop out due to lack of funds. I did meet them for an hour before they headed off into Cardiff, my friend looked suitably stupid which pleased me a lot!
Kitty making friends with next door's cat.
I bought a floral & butterfly headband from Primark yesterday, I've been wrapping it around and wearing it as a bobble all weekend.
While my friend's were out enjoying themselves in Cardiff last night I was living it up in my back garden. We had a pizza on our Chimnea which is always absolutely beautiful. We washed it down with some Corona and slices of lemon.
I lit a candle in my pretty lantern.
I bought this plant pot today for a bargain £5 from ASDA. It is so pretty. I've put my new flowers in there ready for Spencer to pot.
Some more gorgeous food this week. I sprinkled Coriander over my chicken and cooked with lemon. Beautiful served with veg.
I cooked pork with apples and onions. I served this with chili halloumi which has a real kick to it!
I've been enjoying sampling the De Luxe corners. The mint is definitely my favourite, that being said I really enjoyed them all.
Spencer and I went for a walk across the canal to the pub on Friday. We only went for one drink but every time we were about to leave someone we knew would turn up so we'd have another. Three pints after we decided to grab a dirty kebab and head home. I stuck to Chicken Shish to try and be relatively healthy (as much as you can be in a kebaby!)
Today has been such a scorcher! Even my phone stopped working temporarily. This did panic me a little but thankfully I popped it in the shade for a bit and it now works fine.
We went to town earlier and I decided to wear my maxi dress. This is years old and I still dig it out every Summer.
We blew the paddling pool up for my niece & nephew who came around along with their parents. We had a BBQ and a few drinks while soaking up the sun, even the cats joined us. It has been the perfect afternoon.
Have you been making the most of the British heatwave? How have you been enjoying it?
