Week in Photos #120

I saw this great idea on the internet somewhere, probably Pinterest. Snip a hole in a cupcake case and pop a straw through it to stop flies getting in your drink. So pretty and so practical - genius.

Am I a 'proper' blogger now that I've used a paper straw?

Omelette is one of my favourite things to make for breakfast, especially when I'm suffering with a hangover, the protein from the eggs helps to perk me up.
Looking at the offers in shops makes me buy good very bad things. These GU Key Lime tarts were on offer so I had to pick them up, I justify buying them when they are on offer because the ramekins alone would probably cost the same usually. (Queen of excuses)
We had posh fish and chips. I made the chips Slimming World style and the fish in sauce was in the quick sale section, once again I couldn't resist.
I bought these Mini Rolls just so I could try them frozen. They were delicious, I highly recommend it. They were also on offer. I've become such a scrimper!

I made mustard mash and had it with chicken stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon. Another quick sale item! I am sat here laughing as I type this up, wondering if I actually paid full price for anything in last week's shop.
This is what I have to put up with when I try to sleep. Kitty has 3/4 of the pillow and will not be moved. She owns me.
A surprise treat cheered me up Saturday morning after having two sick days. Thanks MUA!
I cooked lunch for the in-laws on Saturday before we headed to Banbury for a 40th birthday party. I decided to make healthy turkey burgers with Slimming World style chips. Burger and chips is so unlike anything they would usually have so I figured I would try and change their perception on it. I don't know if it worked or not but they both said they enjoyed it.

As mentioned above we went to Spencer's cousins 40th birthday party in Banbury yesterday. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express there which was actually quite nice. It isn't very old so is all very modern and most of all the room and shower were spotless. The breakfast was also yummy despite lacking in a few items. They only serve beans, scrambled eggs, toast, sausages and a variety of cereals, fruit & pastries. I missed my hash browns.
The hotel had a Ben & Jerry's vending machine. I clocked it literally as soon as we walked in, I knew I'd have to have one at some point. I didn't expect it to be at about 1am in the morning when we got in from the party. I had a bit of heartburn so it was just what I needed - don't judge!
Spencer and I have just got back from Table Table. I've been really craving a Sunday roast, I think its because there was a Toby Carvery right next to the hotel and I didn't get to eat there. I checked the Table Table website and it said they do roasts so off we went. When we got there they said they don't do roasts anymore. Grrr. I managed to manipulate my steak to slightly resemble a roast dinner. It was yummy.
