Home : Simple Bathroom Makeover for less than £30

A little while ago I decided that my dull bathroom needed a little sprucing up. We were on a tight budget so couldn't afford to replace expensive things such as the floor and tiles, despite the fact that I really, really want to, is it just me who hates wooden flooring in bathrooms?

The top picture is before and the bottom after. As you can see there was nothing really wrong with it before, it was just a little dull. I think the splash of green has really livened it up and gives it a more modern feel. Yes, I am annoyed that I didn't hide Spencer's toilet reading material before taking the photos.

We also updated the light switch and bought a new bath sign. I am very fond of my new light pull, I find it really brings out the green in the tiles that wasn't really very noticeable previously.

We bought the toilet seat, bin and brush from Argos and the light pull and sign came from Wilkinson's. All the links and prices are below.

Ball Light Pull £2 (I couldn't find the green on their website so have linked to a blue one, green may still be available in store)
Bath Sign £3 (I paid £5, it is now reduced)

All in all the makeover cost us £29.98, less than £30 and I think it has updated the whole room so much! If you're looking for a simple yet effective makeover I highly recommend the Colour Match range from Argos and Wilkinson's for reasonably priced, pretty things.

  8. Green is very refreshing! It's a good choice of color and great purchase there, Leanne. Aside from color change, have you not thought of reorganizing the stuff in your bathroom? Doing so will surely create a different feel to your bathroom.
