Week in Photos #121

Please accept my apologies for this being a day late. I have no excuse other than the fact that I am a complete lightweight. I'm still hungover tonight. I am actually so crap at drinking now that I'm considering going tee total, surely I can have as much fun sipping on mocktails?

This is what I have to put up with when I'm trying to read before going to bed. I read on my iPad so flipped the camera to take this, she quite liked watching herself.

This is what I have to put up with when I'm sleeping. Pretty much everyday I wake up with my head on a tiny bit of the pillow and Kitty sprawled out.

I made Welsh cakes towards the back end of last week and Slimming World friendly chocolate brownies yesterday. I will be posting the Welsh cakes recipe soon. The brownies were made using this recipe, they were lovely but a bit too sweet, next time I'll use half the sweetener.

My sister and the kids came over for tea Friday evening. I have been wanting to try threading spaghetti through hot dog sausages for a while now so this gave me the perfect excuse. I served it with a Dolmios tomato based sauce and ciabatta. It was gorgeous and the kids loved it. It was also super quick which was key as I don't get home from work until 6 and they need to get to bed.

Food last week included : chicken stuffed with goats cheese wrapped in bacon with roasted veg; pizza and fancy flat bread (treat night); chicken with new potatoes and carrots; giant yorkshire pudding filled with minced beef, onions, carrots and gravy with homemade mash & roast potatoes on the side.

I bought potatoes when we went shopping on Monday forgetting that we'd signed up for the Veg Box delivery and would be getting more potatoes on Wednesday. I've started storing them in a paper Primark bag to keep them fresher for longer.
A full fridge and fruit bowl after our Veg Box delivery Wednesday. I'll definitely be keeping this subscription going as it is encouraging us to eat a lot more fruit & veg.
Back in the Winter boots :(
Prettying up the house for our Valuation at the weekend, result is that we won't be moving just yet, we will stay here and chip away at our Mortgage living in hope that house prices go back up.

Yummy lemon cheesecake to cheer me up after feeling ill.
I went a little mad with my label maker in the kitchen. I was thinking of doing a review of it on the blog, would you be interested?
We went to a BBQ on Saturday night and were told not to bring anything, I decided to buy some Heroes to take with us, after all they are the thing to bring when you're told not to bring a thing!
My boiler lives in my shoe cupboard, well actually my shoes live in the boiler cupboard but there are more shoes than boiler so I class it as a shoe cupboard. The downside to this is that when the boiler breaks some of the shoes need to come out. I decided to turn this into a positive by sorting them out and listing some on eBay. I managed to put one pair up before getting bored. If you want to buy my one pair of shoes you can do so here, they're only 99p at the moment.

Spot which cat is fake and which is real!
Cereal breakfast on Saturday morning as I didn't want to stink the house out before the Estate Agent came.
Thank you gifts for my Uncle as he saved us a fortune by fixing our boiler and only charging for the part, I'm sure if we'd had to ring a company we'd have paid a hell of a lot more.
We had terrible storms in South Wales on Friday night. We lit some candles and cosied up watching a film during them. Lovely.

  1. My always find my cat at the top of my head in the morning! I think she just wants me to get up and feed her ;) x

    1. Mine doesn't do it because she wants something I don't think, she is just a softy! She used to do it to Spencer and just lies there wrapped around his head purring. For some reason she has moved onto me now! She will sleep there all night. x

  2. Your cat is adorable! :-) xxx

    1. They are cute, little rascals but cute! X

  3. Your cats are so cute! Cats do such funny things.
All of the food photos are making me hungry! I've been wanting to try the spaghetti through sausages for a while too, definitely need to get on and try it.

The spaghetti thing is so much fun, you really should try it. The kids loved it, as did the big kids! x
