First Look : The New Flagship Primark Store, Cardiff

Today there was a real buzz around Cardiff, this was due to the fact that the new five-storey flagship Primark store had opened. I was lucky enough to be invited to the new store for a tour before the official opening at 9am.

The new store replaces the existing Primark in Cardiff, and is actually just opposite the old store which closed yesterday. The new store covers 86,600 sq feet and is conveniently based with entrances from both St David's shopping centre and the city's high street.

The new concept store was opened by her right honorable Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Cllr Margaret Jones. A male voice choir kept the eager waiting customers entertained.

The St David's based Primark store feels really very modern and clean, everything is neat and tidy - hopefully the six hundred employees will be able to keep it this way!

Of the five stories three are dedicated to womenswear, women's accessories and homewares, the lucky men have a whole basement floor to their selves and the top floor is purely for childrenswear.

We were lucky enough to receive a generous gift card in our goody bags, you can see what I bought here. They were also handing out cute little sweets to the customers as we shopped.

It was such an honour to be a part of the opening and to hear the motivational speeches just before opening. The staff raised a huge cheer for their store manager, it really did seem as though Primark Cardiff is a great place to work!

Thanks Primark & St David's for inviting me along.

Kitty loves Primark too.

  10. I love the new concept Primarks. I've spotted quite a few things in this post that I'd quite like - hopefully Stoke's boring old Primark will have them in stock!
