Week in Photos #171

Last week's IKEA buys \\ bed made with new IKEA bedding \\ IKEA cacti sitting in their new home & having a sunbathe. I will post about my teacup cacti once I have bought the soil and potted them properly.

Meals this week have included salmon and rice in a sauce that was a case of throwing everything into the mixture \\ Chicken, garlic & onions with a stuffed mushroom \\ BBQ Pulled pork and sweet potatoes \\ Pork and chips made in our deep fat fryer.

I've been really enjoying logging onto the Tim Hop app every morning to view my day in previous years. If you haven't got this app yet you should, it is a great way of reminiscing. Yesterday's time hop was bitter sweet, photos of our amazing day at a Stereophonics concert shortly followed by the news of Stuart Cable's death.

Our kitchen renovation is in full swing. The discovery of a bees nest above our ceiling was quite scary, it was huge! Thankfully it was a very old one and all of the bees were dead, we're guessing that previous owners may have known and had it fumigated. No oven has meant naughty takeaways, though we really do need to go shopping for some healthy microwave meals instead of eating like this for the whole of the week! The contents of our kitchen are now in our dining room, we have the new kitchen coming on Wednesday and also have to find somewhere to store that until it is fitted (hopefully this coming weekend!). Such a mess but it will be worth it.

As you can see it is quite a big job, the kitchen has been literally gutted with a wall knocked out and the ceiling ripped down. It is slowly starting to resemble a room once again now that the plasterboards have gone up, it is being plastered as I type.

Last night I went to a 90s themed house party. I wasn't sure if I would be going until the very last minute so had an hour to pull together a 90s themed outfit. I think I did pretty well, don't you? The high pontytail and blue eyeshadow finished it off perfectly, though I do wish I had thought to pull some hair out either for quiffs or just the cool 90s strands at the front, showing my age here!

My blue eyeshadow was still very bright at the end of the night \\ I came home to not one but two cats thinking that my side of the bed was now theirs \\ I was a little fragile earlier and couldn't eat the sandwich that Spencer bought to bed for me, Bob happily finished it off.
