What I Bought : Maternity Clothes, mostly New Look

I am twenty three weeks pregnant today and have already built up quite a collection of maternity clothing. Most of it comes from New Look, simply because my local New Look stock maternity wear in store, it is so handy to nip over in my lunch hour and pick up a new top.

Buying maternity clothing can be surprisingly difficult, I went to Cardiff expecting to be able to get loads there and came home empty handed, most stores, New Look included, don't carry the maternity range in-store in Cardiff which is quite disappointing and why I am tending to stick to my local New Look store now.

I'm still in my old jeans/trousers so have only bought tops and dresses so far. Aside from a pack of two pairs of maternity leggings from New Look which are very comfortable.

Work supply us with blouses as uniform, they also provide maternity tops which they tend to be pretty flexible with. They usually order white maternity blouses, but I explained that I did not want white as my boobs are growing and I won't always necessarily be wearing a bra that fits me 100% of the time, therefore I don't want a blouse that you can see my bra through! I was given a few tops to choose from and settled on this black and white polka dot one from Next. At £16 it isn't too badly priced, though it isn't as long as the New Look tops tend to be and I'm not sure they will last right the way through my pregnancy.

This striped New Look top isn't available on-line any more, I'm pretty sure it cost me around £8/9. Like my other New Look maternity tops this is comfortable and long so should hopefully last me all the way through. I really want a pair of dungarees to wear over the top of this but they are so expensive, the New Look ones cost £65!

Both of these comfortable, casual tops are from New Look, both costing around £12.99.

I'm absolutely loving my tight fitting maternity dresses, I've always loved tight midi dresses but have't been able to wear them as I have a large tummy, now that I have a reason to have a large tummy I'm practically living in them! I managed to get both of these on sale, the floral print one for £13 and the floral stripe one £9.

This blue floral dress is perfect to wear with leggings and pumps, I paid £24.99 for it but it is now reduced to £18.50. This black lace dress is by far my most favourite maternity purchase, and possibly my most favourite dress that I have purchased in a long time, I love it and it is so flattering on, I paid £19.99 for it and it is now reduced to £14.50.

Last but by no means least is my lovely New Look maternity coat. My coats are all getting tighter on me and the buttons do occasionally pop open. I really didn't want to spend £50 on a coat I'm only going to wear for one Winter but I didn't have much of a choice. When New Look emailed me with a £10 discount code I just had to dive in and buy a coat, this one cost £49.99 (without the discount).

  1. you've chosen some lovely bits. I have been lucky enough to borrow most of my maternity clothing from a family member although have got a few bits myself.
