Spencer and I promised to take my dad for a tour as a Father's Day present, he loves Whisky so our gift was to take him on the tour and let him choose a bottle of whisky to take home, we thought it was a great gift for him and contained a little more thought than the usual bottle of whisky alone.
We managed to buy the tickets for the tour cheaply via Groupon, it comes up on there quite often so keep your eyes peeled. When it isn't on offer the tickets are £8.50 per person which isn't too bad.
The tour itself was actually very interesting, as well as learning about the process of making the whisky you also learn about the history of the whisky. We were shocked to hear just how far the whisky has travelled and how famous it is, it made us super proud that it is produced in our country.
The tour finishes in the bar where you can buy as many drinks as you like and also use the vouchers that you are given at the beginning of the tour. Each person is given two vouchers, you can either use both vouchers against a miniature to take home or use both vouchers for two tastings at the bar.
Due to being pregnant when we were there I cashed both vouchers in for a miniature, I opted for the Merlyn which is a cream liqueur. I haven't actually drank mine yet but have tried it in the past and it is delicious.
