Review : IngenuiTEA Teapot

I love loose tea but I rarely drink it, I always think it a hassle to make (and wash) a teapot full just for myself, I'm lazy so I need a lazy tea making device. The ingenuiTEA is the perfect lazy device to easily make loose tea for one or two people.

ingenuiTEA by Adagio Teas tea for one easy tea strainer

The ingenuiTEA is really easy to use, so easy Spencer and I were both quite shocked by it. You simply add your tea leaves, and hot water, steep for the time stated on the tea package and then place on top of your cup. When the teapot is placed on the cup a valve is released and the tea pours directly into the cup, the tea leaves remain on top the strainer. You remove these when you're done and place the whole thing in the dishwasher.

As well as serving a purpose the plastic teapot looks impressive, I love that it is clear so that you can see the tea brewing away, I also love the wavy handle and sleek design.

The only downside that I have so far experienced is that there are no markings to tell you how much water you have added. You either have to guess the amount or pour the water into your cup before pouring it into the teapot.

I have tried the teapot on various size cups and mugs and it has so far worked on all of them. The first mug pictured is a large one and the teapot sat nicely on it, any bigger than this would be too big but I don't think mugs come much bigger than this.

The tea itself is also beautiful. If you aren't sure which tea you want there are individual sample packets available and also combination sample packages which work out a little cheaper.

This would be an ideal Christmas present for someone like me who enjoys a pot of flavoured tea on the odd occasion. Adagio Teas stock a wide variety of loose teas, I already have a mental list of flavours to try on my next order!

Are you a fan of loose tea? If so, what is your favourite flavour? I prefer light, floral blends.
