Slimming World Weekly Weigh in #10

I finally did it, it has taken me ten weeks but I weighed today and I lost the one pound that I needed, I have finally lost a stone, one stone exactly which means that I have to be really good this week as I don't want to be putting even half a pound back on now!

This past week has had plenty of ups and downs food wise. I've had a few days where I've been ill and just haven't wanted to cook and I've had a few days where I've been super busy preparing our house for sale that I haven't had time to cook. Despite this I think I've still made half decent choices even when reaching for the takeaway menu. Apologies that I have missed some meals out, as I've been ill and busy I haven't taken photos of every meal and am struggling to remember what I've eaten, I promise I will be better next week!

Carry on reading to find out what I've been ordering.

Home : Preparing To Sell

Our house will shortly be going on the market, we absolutely love our house and have done so much to it over the years but the time has come to move to a bigger home, a home that can be our forever home. We've spent a few days getting our house ready for someone else to fall in love with it.

I'm by no means an expert at selling houses as I've never sold one before, but I am going to share what we have done to get our house sale ready, or at least ready for the Estate Agent photos.

Fine Dining - Three Courses with Canned Foods

Did you know that Cardiff alone eats 76 tonnes of canned food a day? That is a huge 183,000 (survey estimation) cans! Cardiff residents are eating more canned foods now than they were 10 years ago, over half of the residents stock up to 10 cans in their cupboard at any one time, the main reason for this is the speed of preparation. Canned products can be used to make a quick, wholesome meal for the whole family with minimum cost, as well as having a long shelf life and retaining the nutritional benefit.

I was recently invited to create a delicious three course meal using mainly tinned foods, with recipes from Canned Foods UK, a not for profit organisation who promote the benefits of cooking with canned foods, such as affordability and nutritional value.

What My Baby Wore #9

Another week with not a lot of outfit photos for Aria, this week I have been so ill both Aria and I have spent the majority of the time in pyjamas and I haven't thought to take a photo of her cute sleepsuits. I managed two outfit photos this week, which is better than last week!

Slimming World Weekly Weigh In #9

I've had a bad week this week, I planned to have a bad week as I had a lot on. I went away for a few days, celebrated a friends birthday and went to watch Wales play rugby. The week included chip shop chips, warm doughnuts on the beach, hotdog & chips, lots of lager, two three course meals, McDonalds, pizza a burger, an all you can eat buffet, and probably more naughties that I've forgotten!

I expected a gain this week, in fact, I wanted a gain. I knew that if I didn't gain I would refer back to 'the week when I ate lots and didn't put weight on' whenever I wanted a naughty treat. So, as strange as it seems, I was relieved today to step onto the scales and see that I had gained 1/2 a pound. Relieved that a) I had put weight on after binging so much and b) I had managed to undo some of the damage by having a few good days.

What My Baby Wore #8

Shockingly I only have one outfit photo for Aria this week. I'm not really sure what has gone on, we had two days away, another where she slept up my parents house and other days I guess I have just forgotten. Nonetheless the linky must still go ahead!

Slimming World Weekly Weigh In Results & Food Diary #8

Another week in which I have dreaded weighing. I need to lock myself inside until I hit target, I manage to stick to plan (almost) 100% in the house, but when I'm out and there are temptations all around I just cannot resist.

Which is why I am super shocked to have lost 1/2 pound!

What My Baby Wore #7

We've gone through a lot of clothes this week, but annoyingly I haven't taken photos of many. The reason for both of those is that we've had a lot of leaky nappies and messes. Carry on reading to see the outfits that lasted a little longer than five minutes...

As usual I have linked to the item where available and would love for you to leave join in with the linky at the end.

Review : #HappyMail Vintage & Shabby Chic Monthly Subscription Box

I remember the days when subscription boxes became a 'thing' in the UK, there were a lot of beauty boxes on the scene, some great, some not so great. Good or bad they were always an exciting way of discovering new products, usually at a discounted price.

Several years on and there are subscription boxes for just about everything, make-up, food, pets, everything! The most recent subscription boxes to catch my attention are the #HappyMail boxes* from ihearthomes, these themed boxes are jam packed with beautiful vintage and shabby chic treats.

Slimming World Weekly Weigh In Results & Food Diary #7

Another not so great week this week, I went out for food on both Wednesday and Thursday nights and also ate a lot of cake at a party on Saturday. I decided to attempt to minimise the damage by having SP days yesterday and Monday, I actually quite enjoyed these as it meant that I could have two B choices. The great thing is, it worked! I weighed in today and had lost another 1lb, which is a total of 13lbs. I will get that stone next week...

Carry on reading to find out what I have been eating the past week.

Weaning Essentials

We started Aria's weaning journey a couple of weeks ago now, in this time I have picked up a few essential items that I will be sharing with you today. All weaning journeys are different so what is essential to us may not be essential to you, but there are similarities in every journey so hopefully you will pick up a tip or two if nothing else.

What My Baby Wore #6

Here it is, another instalment of What My Baby Wore, these weeks go by so quickly! This week's post includes not one, but two party outfits! The first party outfit is the tutu, Elsa visited that party so I made sure Aria was wearing her Olaf bib. The second party was a Mad Hatter's one so Aria wore her gingham dress with teacups on the bottom.

As usual I have linked to the items where available and would love for you to leave your links in the linky at the end.

Day Out : The Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo at Symonds Yat

I decided to make the most of Spencer being off work on Bank Holiday Monday and plan a family day out. Spencer wanted to go to a garden centre to have a look at the fish (he is planning to buy a fish tank) and I decided to go to the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo at the Wye Valley Visitor Centre. I hadn't ever been before so wasn't sure what to expect, but I thought that Aria may like to watch the pretty, colourful butterflies flying around.

Slimming World Weekly Weigh In Results & Food Diary #6

Another week in which I have been dreading weigh in. I've had a few too many treats this past week including a post weigh in slice of cake at Wetherspoons last Wednesday, a meal out on Wednesday evening and yes, I had pudding, buffet food and birthday cake at a party on Sunday and (last but not least) cake and a latte while out on Monday.

As a result of all of this I was very shocked to weigh in today and find out that I had lost 1/2 a pound, I know it isn't a huge amount but I had expected a maintain, or even a gain. I guess the fact that I was good for the rest of the week worked in my favour.

So, now that I've 'fessed up to that, here is what I've been eating this week.

DIY Baby Toy - Tummy Time Sensory Mat

Due to the fact that Aria hates tummy time I am always trying to come up with ideas to keep her entertained during tummy time so that she will enjoy it a little more. The latest attempt has so far been a huge success, I made a very simple sensory mat and Aria loves it.
