Slimming World Weekly Weigh in & Food Diary #14

This week has been a bit of a mixed bag, I wanted to be good after my 2lb gain last week but I did have two meals out, and I'm not one of these people who can go out and happily eat a salad, I like three, or at the very least two, naughty courses! The rest of the week I have been good although I have had a few days with not enough speed and/or skipped meals.

I was extremely shocked and happy to stand on the scales today and discover that I've lost 4 & 1/2 lbs this week! This is my biggest loss so far. Not only have I now got my Club 10 (I've lost 10% of my weight) I am also down into the next stone bracket and only have 1/2 lb until I get my stone & a half award. I am going away this weekend so I'm not holding out too much hope to get it next week but at least it is now in sight.

Recent Events : #PartyAtTheAngel and #SWBXmas

I've recently attended two fabulous events, both arranged by fellow bloggers. The first event, #PartyAtTheAngel, organised by Ffion and Charlotte, was held at The Angel Hotel, Cardiff back in September. The second event, #SWBXmas, organised by Kerry, was held at Chapter, Cardiff a few weeks ago.

Review : Autumn Menu at Victoria Park Brewers Fayre, Ebbw Vale

Yesterday I went along to the Gwent Brewers Fayre, based in Victoria Park, Ebbw Vale, to trial their new Autumn menu*. Based near the Festival Park site the restaurant is easy to get to both via car and public transport. It is the perfect spot to fill your stomach ready for a day of shopping and activities at the park site, or to re-fill your stomach after burning off all your energy shopping.

What My Baby Wore #13

I have gone a bit crazy buying new clothing for Aria recently, which means that there are lots of pretty new clothes in this week's what my baby wore post. This girl is better dressed than me, and probably has more clothes than I do.

Slimming World Weekly Weigh In #13

You may have noticed that as the weeks of my Slimming World journey pass more and more off plan days are creeping in. This past week the off plan days have increased, I have been eating everything and anything without a care. I'm putting off doing my weekly shop because I just can't be-bothered to sit down and think of a meal plan. As a result I am turning to takeaways or processed food from the freezer. I have started work and am struggling to eat my meals around my shifts, I need to get into a routine of having big breakfasts or early lunches to get me through my shifts. Aria is doing well on her weaning so I want to start giving her more of our food instead of making her separate meals and I just don't know what we should be eating that will be suitable for her. I think all of this combined with the stress of trying to find a house is why I have fallen completely off the wagon.

As a result of the above a 2lb gain didn't upset me.

Review : IngenuiTEA Teapot

I love loose tea but I rarely drink it, I always think it a hassle to make (and wash) a teapot full just for myself, I'm lazy so I need a lazy tea making device. The ingenuiTEA is the perfect lazy device to easily make loose tea for one or two people.

What My Baby Wore #12

I've started to run out of clothes for Aria, when she was born people bought her lots of clothes, ranging up to size 3-6 months, she is now either too big for them or wearing them, her wardrobe is half empty and I don't like it! As a result I've bought quite a few bits for her this past week, my staff discount has also come in handy, I'm sure you'll be able to guess where I work just from reading this post!

Leaving My Career for My Baby

A lot of you won't know this, I'm a fully qualified Legal Cashier. I have worked in the accounts department in a local Solicitors since the last year of my admin course in college, I went there on work experience during my course and they kept me on part time, working on the days that I didn't have college. Once I finished college they offered me a full time role, eventually they put me through a diploma, I failed my exam first time around but scraped through the second time, I now have the option to use the letters ILCA DIP after my name if I so wish (I never use them!). A few weeks ago, after working there for almost 13 years, I decided to put my baby before my career and hand my notice in. I left my career for my baby.

Stop Smoking with iCig

When I found out that I was pregnant with Aria I found it really easy to quit smoking, as soon as I saw the positive pregnancy test that was that. I have always been more of a social smoker than a full time smoker, no alcohol during pregnancy meant that quitting smoking was easy. Almost eight months later and I'm back in the habit, with alcohol comes dirty cigarettes.

Slimming World Weekly Weigh In #12

I started this week really well, I did a huge food shop and planned my evening meals and some of my lunches for the week, I also popped into Iceland to buy some of the Slimming World freezer food just in case. We used the sausages one day and they were lovely. As is becoming a habit I did trip up a little on the weekend, I simply can't say no to treats when I'm out and I see them, I enjoy cake too much! Despite the slip ups I did have quite a few low syn & zero syn days so I imagine that I did stay within my syn allowance over the week as a whole, which is how I managed to lose another 1.5lbs, bringing me to a total weight loss of 1 stone & 4lbs.

Baby Halloween Outfit Ideas

I've spent a little while searching for cute baby Halloween outfits for Aria's first Halloween, I decided that I wanted her to be a Pumpkin because I painted my bump as a 'bumpkin' last year. While searching I came across so many cute outfits, it has taken a lot of restraint not to buy them all and I am still very tempted to buy more!

Carry on reading to see what Aria will be wearing this Halloween and for some of the outfits that I still want to buy.

What I Wore : Casual Rainy Day

Having a baby in a pushchair means that I can no longer reach for my umbrella when it rains, I could try but I am not good at steering that thing at the best of times, steering it while holding an umbrella would end in a crash. As a result I need a good rain coat.

What My Baby Wore #11

Another instalment of What My Baby Wore, I feel as though I'm making excuses every time I post this lately as I never seem to feature many outfits, this week the excuse is that we have sold our house and are frantically searching for a new house, it has been an emotional roller coaster with the joy of selling our house, the disappointment of the house that we want selling to someone else and the stress of finding another house.

Any way, more on that in another post, for now it is time to share what Aria wore!

My Little Ducking Novelty Pilot Baby Hats

Aria is at the age where it is fully acceptable to dress in her cute but silly clothing, I love to take advantage of this and the fact that she can't yet refuse to wear what I want her to which is why I jumped at the chance to review a hat from My Little Ducking.

Slimming World Weekly Weigh in #11

I really didn't know what to expect at weigh in this morning, I've had a a mixed week with three very good days on plan and a few not so good days. I stuck to plan for the majority of Saturday but I drank, a lot, Saturday night. Sunday I didn't move far from the sofa other than to be sick or to eat my Pizza Hut takeaway and Monday we hadn't been shopping so I just ate whatever I had available, though I did make some sensible choices such as eating the filling out of a pie and leaving the crust!

The days in the run up to the not so good days were very good and yesterday I had a zero syn day in an attempt to cancel things out. Thankfully this worked! I weighed this morning to find that I had lost 2.5lbs, bringing me to a total of 1 stone 2.5lbs lost.
