Now that we have made the decision to take our house off the market and stay put for a while I am feeling inspired to make changes. People who viewed our house were very complimentary; these compliments have helped me fall in love with my home again. Much like when we bought the house many years ago I'm now seeing potential everywhere I look and I cannot wait to start re-decorating.

The room that I am most keen to makeover is the attic. We haven't touched the attic since we bought the house, the same yellow paint remains on the walls. It was always Spencer's games room so I was never really bothered about it. I've recently traded in my laptop for a Mac computer and as a result am spending a lot more time in the attic.

My main goal for the attic is to paint it white, I'm not a fan of yellow walls and am surprised that I've put up with it for as long as I have. Once painted I need a new desk (a white one of course), to remove the picture from behind my desk and have that wall as a little place to stick up inspiring prints and quotes. I'm also trying to convince Spencer to get rid of his shelving unit that is hidden behind the Welsh flag and get something a little neater and nicer.

The nursery was only decorated about a year ago and overall I am still quite happy with it. Though browsing nursery ideas really does tempt me to give this room another makeover.  I love the colours on the walls and the accessories, but I am very tempted to get rid of the wall mural. I haven't dared to tell Spencer that yet. I've seen a lot of mint green, pink and gold nursery themes popping up lately and really like the look of these. If we were to get rid of the mural, the paper pom pom things and the throw I could easily incorporate mint green and gold to get the theme that I now want.

My biggest bug bear in this house and one that I cannot wait to change is the doors. The living room door is quite possibly the ugliest door ever. I've wanted to change this since day one but for some reason it has remained. I also have plans to (or get Spencer to) paint the rest of the internal doors and the banister white.

What are the main things that you want to change in your house?
