Inspired by Teddy Bears and Cardigans blog I have decided to join in with the popular #MySundayPhoto linky. Back in the day when I had time on my hands I would publish a week in photos post every Sunday, this post was always very popular and to this day I still miss compiling my photos and writing about the week that was.
I'm cheating a little as I'm submitting three photos instead of one, but the first photo will always be my favourite. I'm going to use this almost as a weekend in photos type post, I rarely do anything exciting during the week. Some weeks I may not publish one at all, I think the pressure to publish something every week is what made me stop the series last time.
This weekend has been great fun, we've really made the most of the sunshine. Yesterday Aria and I took a trip to the local park with my sister, a friend and their children. We had a picnic, made daisy chains and sat in the sun. It was a lovely day, very chilled out and enjoyable. The park is looking fabulous at the moment with it's cherry blossom trees in full bloom and lining the path in pink.
Today we took a trip up to The Folly Tower in Pontypool. I used to love this place when I was younger. The Council used to open it up every weekend during the Summer holidays and we would ride our bikes up there and climb the steps to the top, we felt like Princesses at the top of our castle taking in the stunning views. Unfortunately it doesn't open very often nowadays, though it is still a lovely place to visit with a shell Grotto just a short walk away.
Our local Council are hosting a photography competition with the subject 'reasons to visit Torfaen', I'm considering submitting my photo of the Folly Tower as an entry, the winner gets £50 and their photo on a canvas so it is worth entering. It is open until early August so I'm not going to submit this photo yet, just in case something better presents itself to me.
What have you done this weekend? Have you had sunshine where you are?
