I don't tend to write 'chatty' posts very much anymore, as a result I feel as though my readers know where we've been and what we've eaten but they don't actually know anything about as a family. There have been quite a few changes lately so I thought I really should write a little update. This coincides nicely with our new profile photo that you may have already noticed.
If you follow me across social media you may have noticed that I have a new profile photo, this is also displayed on the side bar of my blog. Our last photo was probably about a year old, Aria was asleep in it which just goes to show how old it is! This crazy one year old doesn't sleep on mummy and daddy anymore!
Today I got the tripod out, popped the camera on timer and shot away. It was hard work getting a photo of us all looking, Aria found the camera counting down very amusing and kept clapping and looking at daddy! Thankfully we managed to get a very nice photo in the end. This photo is now displayed on my facebook, twitter, instagram and Google+, I'm hoping that people won't wonder who I am and unfollow!
As you've probably noticed by these photos I am rocking a new hair colour. Last night I decided to bleach my own hair and dye it lilac. It came out more of a grey colour with patches of orangey-pink, blue, green and the odd lilac streak here and there but I kind of like it! I've bought silver shampoo and a semi permanent silver hair colour so am hoping to get rid of the patchiness with these.
I'm toying with the idea of growing my hair out, I like it short but it can be hard work as I have a double crown and there isn't enough weight at the back to hold it down. I'm really not sure what to do yet, I will probably leave it until it gets to the awkward scruffy looking stage then give in and have it cut again!
In other news I have a new job! I started working in a photography studio on a self-employed basis back in February, not actually doing photography but helping out in the studio with admin, social media and general day to day tasks. This month I have been taken on as employed to train as a photographer! I'm very excited about this, I'm also very nervous as is to be expected. Despite being confident with a camera I still have a lot to learn, studio photography is completely different to what I'm used to. I have to consider how the photos will look on print and ensure that they are framed correctly so that they can be printed in various sizes. I also have to be creative with the use of props and let myself go and basically act like a child in an attempt to get the children that I am photographing to a) like me and b) smile!
Now that I'm employed again we are in a position to be able to move so we have re-listed our house. We've had no viewings yet but it did only go up last week. The last time it went up for sale we had two viewings straight away, both of who put in an offer, so I've built my expectations up around this and have to realise that it doesn't always work that way.
In other very exciting news A Slice Of My Life Wales has cracked the top 200 of the Tots100 chart! The Tots100 chart is a system that ranks UK Parent bloggers, there are over 8,000 registered blogs and somehow I have been slowly and steadily climbing up the chart this past year. I am over the moon to have cracked the top 200, I never imagined that I would and I am so proud of myself for getting there. Thank you guys for your continued support - you are awesome!
